Source & provenance
The VIEWPIECE wordmark was supplied with the project brief. The homepage and 37 page backgrounds use distinct contextual photographs available under the Pexels Free Stock Photo & Video License; each has a discreet source link for its contributor and image details. The About page uses a NASA astronaut photograph, credited to NASA Earth Observatory and linked to its source. The USGS Yellowstone interferogram is public domain and credited on its page. The NASA/JPL Ubar comparison is credited to NASA/JPL at its source and on the page. The homepage Earth image is a digital rendering, not a scientific observation. Context images do not represent VIEWPIECE acquisitions, measurements or analytical outputs.
Data integrity
The Observatory layers and charts are synthetic explanatory graphics. They use no live Earth-observation data. Any future data-backed publication should identify its source, licence, acquisition date, processing lineage and known limitations.
